What to expect

Thank you so much for considering me for your portrait needs!  I strive to provide my clients with a pleasing photography experience and beautiful images.

Before the session  We will go over location, wardrobe and what you envision for your shoot.  I do require a retainer fee which at the moment is $50 to hold your session date and collection price. The deposit is included in your session total and will go towards your session. Remaining balance is due at time of session in cash or check.  Album pricing is subject to change without notice.  If you wish to secure your album price please send a $50 deposit within 60 days of booking your session.

Days leading up to your session and the day of I'll keep an eye on the weather forecast and contact you as early as possible if I feel the session may need to be moved earlier or later in the day or re-schedule to another day.  If we need to reschedule we will work together to find a day that works for us both.

What to wear  Clothing is a key element to timeless and beautiful portraits. Try to coordinate, mix up colors rather than match them.  You can coordinate very well without matching. If you'd like to add a pop of color accessorize with a nice hat, scarf, necklace or belt. Maxi's and Boho dresses are great for woman. Try to stay away from logos and small patterns. Stay away from fluorescent colors, they tend to be harsh and create color cast on faces and necks. If you love primary and rich colors, try different versions of them, for example: Mustard (yellow) Maroon (Red) and Navy (Blue). If you love the light and airy look consider pastels, creams, light blues, grays. These are just suggestions =) Its most important to feel confident and comfortable in your shoot so stay true to your style.

As you plan out your photo shoot, remember to think about where and how pictures will be displayed.  If you are planning on displaying photos on your living room wall, tie the colors and setup of your photos to the color scheme of the room.

Online stores I love:

Freepeople

Lulus

Banana Republic

Session time!  If you have little ones consider having them nap right before the session. Healthy snacks and incentives during the shoot go along away for kiddos.  These tips also work with Daddy... I know dads love a photoshoot as much as kids do =)!

I will capture a variety of loosely posed and completely candid moments, the in between moments are my favorite!   The most important part to remember is to relax and enjoy yourself. The first 5-10 mins you might feel uncomfortable in front of a tiny woman with a camera...  but soon after you will be rocking it! If you have a specific photo in mind let me know and I will be happy to work it in if I can.

After the session  Following your session I carefully select the best images for procession and retouching.  I select images based on lighting, facial expression and posing.  Images with blinking eyes, children moving out of the frame, unflattering expressions, etc. are purged during the editing process to ensure that only the absolute best images end up in your gallery.   Each image is individually processed, enhanced and receives retouching which includes temporary changes, such as acne, and small spots on clothing, etc.  About 2 weeks following your session you will receive a private\password protected online gallery to view and share with friends and family.

Please know you can call, or email me with any questions or concerns..just ask, don't be shy, Im very laid back and love to chat =)
